Unitus is a non-profit organization helping solve global poverty by making financial capital and small business loans available to working poor in developing countries around the world.
Unitus has a unique approach to microfinance that applies market-driven methods and a venture capital approach to microcredit lending. Unitus works with partner microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Dave has been a Unitus board member since fall of 2005.

Kiva is a non-profit startup enabling individuals to connect with and loan money to small businesses & micro-entrepreneurs in developing countries around the world.
Kiva launched in the fall of 2005, and Dave became an advisor to the company in spring of 2006.

The Silicon Valley Microfinance Network (SVMN) is a San Francisco Bay Area non-profit organization for people interested in learning about microfinance, microcredit, and related finance and economic topics.
Dave was a co-founder of SVMN in fall of 2005, and currently serves as a board member and organization co-chair.

SDForum is a Silicon Valley non-profit organization providing information, education, and topical events about technology & entrepreneurship to the Northern California hi-tech community.
SDForum hosts events for engineers, entrepreneurs, executives, angel & venture capital (VC) investors, and the larger Silicon Valley technology community to exchange information and best practices about emerging technologies and related hi-tech businesses.
Dave has been an SDForum member & volunteer organizer since 1994. Over the past ten years, he has co-founded & co-chaired several SDForum special interest groups (SIGs) including the E-Commerce SIG, Venture Finance SIG, and most recently the Silicon Valley Search SIG.
